The ESP-01 ESP8266 Serial WIFI Wireless Transceiver Module is a versatile and cost-effective solution for adding Wi-Fi capabilities to your microcontroller projects. This self-contained system-on-chip (SOC) includes an integrated TCP/IP protocol stack, enabling any microcontroller to connect to a Wi-Fi network effortlessly.
Pre-programmed with an AT command set firmware, the ESP8266 module allows you to quickly set up Wi-Fi connectivity with your Arduino or other microcontroller, similar to a Wi-Fi Shield. Its robust on-board processing and storage capabilities enable seamless integration with sensors and other devices via GPIOs, requiring minimal development effort and runtime load.
Designed for high efficiency and minimal external circuitry, the ESP8266 includes a front-end module occupying minimal PCB area. It supports APSD for VoIP applications and Bluetooth co-existence interfaces, featuring a self-calibrated RF that operates under various conditions without needing external RF components.
The ESP8266 module is supported by a large, active community, providing abundant resources and information for diverse applications, including IoT (Internet of Things) solutions.
- The ESP8266 module requires an external Logic Level Converter for 5-3V logic shifting and should not be powered directly from a 5V development board.
